Photo Journal
Over the last few years I’ve found photography as therapeutic as cycling. Time spent alone or with friends and enjoying the process of capturing moments and having somewhere other of than Instagram to host them. Here you’ll find reviews, work rides with friends, travel and even things for the bike nerds among you.
THE SIMPLICITY & SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BELGIE & BREW
The importance of time spent with others is significant, especially for those who live alone, or work from home, or have had to manage home schooling etc. And equally the importance of taking a moment to step away from the noise, and find some calm in nature is not to be overlooked. The Belgie is a loop of 30km that winds across paths and commons locally, right on the doorstep of the M25 motorway and some of the busiest traffic in the country. But amongst the trees that surround, the noise softens, giving way to clarity and peace. Nature again making her presence known. If you look for it, you will find it.
Festive gallery
Making the most of a bad situation. A few of us managed to ride, largely thanks to lockdown travel restrictions and social distancing. This year there was no work, unable to visit family and for the first time some “free” time to ride. A weird sense of wow we can ride more and oh shit only because 2020 sucked. Anyway, here you’ll see images from Nick Frendo, Peter Clarkson , Jonnie Bloor and Casper Gylling. Let’s hope 2021 enables more travel and improved social connections.
Toscana September 2020
A week long getaway, the only one of the year. My partner Oriana and I have have a long love of this place. The food, the wine the people. It’s somewhere I can see myself retiring to. Here’s why.
Denibies Vinyard
One of my favourite view points in the Surrey Hills. Every season the colours shift, most of these were taken in Autumn 2020 but there’s a couple from a scorching hot day in the summer.
Coal drops Yard
Kings Cross, home to my favourite restaurant Vermuteria. Transformed from an undesirable, unloved part of town you would generally avoid into a place I can spend all day.
Lock down London
Lock down provided an incredible opportunity to explore a traffic and a people free London. Not something you really want repeat but an amazing experience all the same.
People.
Don’t worry if you haven’t made the cut, this isn’t about favourites just some shots of people I’ve met along the way who in one way or another have had a positive impact on my life.
